Let’s Create!

I've been staring at this shirt. It's an old on-set production shirt β€” the one I wore filming in public and on the big shoots, the one that met a whole lot of dope people and cool creatives along the way. You can tell it was my favorite by how worn the lettering has gotten, faded from too many trips through the washer. A lot of memories in this shirt.

But like every good leader will tell you: sometimes it's time to pivot.

One Chapter Closes, the Book Keeps Going

When I started out, the business was called Gavin (Bison) Videos, and I pigeonholed myself. I only wanted to do video. No passion for photos, no interest in picking up a stills camera. But after a run of big productions, I kept getting asked the same thing over and over…

can you do photos? Can you do photos? Can you do photos?

So eventually I picked one up and tried. And what I found surprised me. I could bring my whole style into a photo β€” the deep colors, the storytelling, all of it. I wanted to offer that to my clients, but there was a problem: a business with "Videos" in the name can't exactly sell photography. I'd boxed myself in.

That's the pivot. A video-only name couldn't carry everything I do now, but Gavin (Bison) Media can. Same person, same style, bigger studio. I'm proud of everything the last two years taught me, the mountains I climbed and the valleys I clawed my way out of, but what I'm most fired up about is what comes next.

Still Everything Video

Let me be clear: none of the video work is going anywhere. Gavin (Bison) Media is still a full video production Business β€” the big productions, the commercials, the recruitment films, the fundraising videos, the marketing pieces, the creative work, the reels, whatever you need. That's the foundation, and it's as strong as ever.

Now, Photography Too

Here's the new one I'm genuinely excited about: photography. Sports, events, creative shoots, branding, headshots, landscape, real estate β€” whatever you need, shot with the same deep-color, story-first style as my video work. One exception, and I mean it: don't call me for weddings. I don't do weddings, and I never will. We can still be friends.

And the Big One: Content Libraries

This is where I really believe Gavin (Bison) Media sets itself apart. We're in a content era, and businesses simply can't keep up with how much they're expected to put out. They need a content library β€” a deep well of footage and photos they can pull from anytime to build reels, graphics, and posts, whatever the week demands.

So here's what I do. I come on-site a set number of hours each month, bring both cameras, and capture everything your business needs: people doing their jobs, events, product, process, and the behind-the-scenes moments worth keeping. Then at the end of the month, you get all of it β€” color-graded footage and photos, handed over and ready to use. Your marketing team, or just you, can turn around and build reels, videos, graphics, and posts from a library that's already yours.

Why give away footage most creatives would never hand over? Because business owners are stretched thin. There's not enough time in the day, and their team doesn't have the time or the passion to be filming themselves. They need someone who loves the video and the photo enough to just show up, do it, and hand over the memory card. That's the whole idea. I become a tool β€” a key β€” that unlocks what your brand can become in a content-driven era, whether you're in Wisconsin, Illinois, Hawaii, or anywhere else the work takes me.

Let's Create!!

So yeah, the old chapter is closed. I learned a lot, grew a lot, and stressed more than I'll admit. But this was never a goodbye. It's a "let's do more."

Gavin (Bison) Media is here to stay, and it's three things now instead of one: video, photography, and content libraries, all under one roof. So I've got just one thing to ask you.

Let's create!!  Let's talk!!
